It was a misunderstanding on my part...the guy I used to play w back then played gigs w Clarence Carter, not Clemons...my bad. "Brain-Typo" on my part.

Hung out with Mr. Acrolite and some guys from another drum forum (I forget the name) last night. Very cool.
Mr. Acrolite ("Mr. Clean Goes to Prison") had a great pocket and the band rocked the Santa Monica pier. There were probably about three thousand people there. Afterward, we all searched for a watering hole and had some beers, discussing drums. It was a good hang, and anybody who gets the opportunity should check out Mr. A. with Clarence Clemmons.
Yeah, I had a blast hanging out with Jon and the other couple drummers we hooked up with. We were total drum geeks, boring the living daylights out of Jon's non-drummer friend, who was extraordinarily patient with us.
For those who may not know it, Jon is way cool, funny as hell, and REALLY tall. Hope we hook up again soon!
Oh, and thanks for A) the beer, and B) saving me from the man known only as Fat Pat. Long story...

Here's a pic of our nerdy drum hang after Keith's Clarence Clemmons gig in Santa Monica (from left): local drummers Jim, John, Keith Cronin (Mr. Acrolite), and me. John, who looks exactly like Peter Erskine, has a steady jazz gig at a club in Disney Land. Good times were had by all.

also, i will have a layover in L.A. next tuesday (sept 21)one night only. i don't fly out until wed so i am going to hit the 'baked potato' (my first time) and see;

I think the only way to post a pic is if it's on a server. You hit the "image" button and insert the address when writing the message.
As far as better things to do while you're in town, I'm actually pretty lame and don't go out much, but that gig sounds pretty good to me. Maybe I'll go.
